Unesco World Heritage – Zeche Zollverein Essen, Germany
As part of the “emscherbilder” project, 17 contemporary photographers followed the Emschergenossenschaft’s commission from 2012 to artistically document the urban development, social and topographical consequences of the Emscher renovation at 16 locations. The exhibition location, the historic mixing plant of the Zollverein coking plant, is considered the Gropius building of the Ruhr area and one of the most impressive places in the entire region.

Unesco World Heritage – Zeche Zollverein Essen, Germany
Im Rahmen des Projekts „emscherbilder“ folgten 17 zeitgenössische Fotograf*innen ab 2012 dem Auftrag der Emschergenossenschaft, an 16 Positionen urbane, gesellschaftliche und topografische Folgen des Emscherumbaus künstlerisch zu dokumentieren. Der Ausstellungsort, die historische Mischanlage der Kokerei Zollverein, gilt als Gropius Bau des Ruhrgebiets und als einer der beeindruckendsten Orte der ganzen Region.
